Introduction
Myocardial infarction caused by coronary artery stenosis is the main cause of sudden cardiac death. Whether myocardial hypoxia requires intervention in coronary angiography, an invasive pressure wire and vasodilator are still needed. The measured fractional flow reserve (FFR) determines the coronary flow rate. The procedure has surgical risks and high medical costs due to obstruction. Although the use of tomography to reconstruct the calculation model of blood vessels and blood flow can reduce the cost of money, it has the disadvantages of high computational cost and high complexity, which reduces the accuracy.

This patent proposes to realize the low medical cost and real-time detection of coronary artery stenosis. The FFR value of the occluded blood vessel can be quickly estimated by the dilation rate parameter of the occluded blood vessel. The correlation coefficient between the vascular expansion rate and the FFR value of this patent reaches 0.8, the sensitivity reaches 100%, and the specificity reaches 90%. It can be used as a new indicator to assess the degree of coronary artery stenosis before installing cardiac stents. It can also reduce the risk of surgery and related medical expenses.
Features / strengths
Currently, there is no method for predicting the degree of vascular occlusion using the vasodilation rate in clinical medicine. This method does not require invasive pressure wires and vasodilators. It instantly injects the contrast agent into the original coronary angiography to image the anterior blood vessels at the vascular occlusion site. The design is based on the coronary angiography used in the actual medical routine to measure the vascular dilatation rate in the required measurement of the blood vessel segment. It correlates highly with the FFR value produced by the current invasive pressure guide wire. Thus, it can be used as a new indicator to assess the degree of vascular obstruction before installing cardiac stents. It can also reduce the risk of surgery and related medical expenses.
