Each Transystem kit includes a sterile peel bag containing the swab to collect the sample and a plastic tube for transporting the culture medium into which the swab applicator is placed after taking the sample.
Transystem™ offers a variety of transfer media: Amies or Stuart's media with or without activated charcoal, Cary Blair fecal transfer media
Swabs have shafts of different materials to facilitate collection of samples from various parts of the patient, including small or curved lumens.
