Introduction
AIRBIO ONE Rapid-Virus, developed by ORUM International / TRIO.BAS® in Italy, is an active air sampler designed for airborne virus and microbial monitoring in healthcare facilities, public areas, pharmaceutical, biotech, food production, and environmental monitoring applications. The system can collect airborne viruses and pathogenic microorganisms into liquid media such as buffer, saline, or nutrient solution for subsequent PCR, RT-qPCR, or qPCR analysis. It can also be used with traditional agar plates for active microbial air sampling and CFU enumeration. Compared with conventional culture-based methods, liquid collection enables faster downstream analysis and supports infection risk monitoring, disinfection efficacy assessment, hospital environmental surveillance, and air quality management in high-traffic areas. With a sampling flow rate of 200 L/min, AIRBIO ONE Rapid-Virus allows users to define sampling time, location, and frequency according to established SOPs, supporting a more systematic airborne pathogen monitoring program.
Features / strengths
1. Dual sampling applications: Supports liquid collection for airborne viruses and pathogens for PCR, RT-qPCR, or qPCR analysis, and agar plate sampling for CFU enumeration.
2. High-efficiency air sampling: 200 L/min active air sampling flow rate for rapid collection of large air volumes.
3. Liquid collection system: Compatible with water, buffer, saline, or nutrient solution, with a 15 mL collection volume.
4. Suitable for healthcare and public health monitoring: Applicable to patient areas, public spaces, crowded locations, HVAC airflow zones, and post-disinfection assessment.
5. Supports downstream molecular analysis: Liquid samples can be processed according to laboratory protocols for virus or pathogen identification.
6. SOP-based monitoring workflow: Sampling strategy, location, frequency, sample storage, and transportation can be defined according to standard operating procedures.
7. Made in Italy: Manufactured by ORUM International / TRIO.BAS? for professional laboratory and environmental monitoring applications.
