TTY Biopharma Co. Ltd., launches triple strategy to expand into international marketsMar 21, 2024

On March 20th, TTY Biopharma's General Manager, Sara Hou, announced the launch of a triple strategy, including licensing new international drugs, exporting difficult-to-sell generic drugs, and producing new domestic drugs. With the aim of constructing a "dual-engine" operation, the company is striving for double-digit growth and leading TTY Biopharma into international markets.

Since assuming office on April 18, 2022, Sara Hou has introduced international management thinking and diverse work culture concepts, leveraging her extensive experience in foreign pharmaceutical companies. This has led to significant progress in areas such as sustainable corporate management, domestic and international market development, cutting-edge product layout, production capacity optimization, and international talent cultivation.

Sara Hou stated that the company actively recruits international talent and conducts comprehensive talent development through rotations. She expressed gratitude for TTY Biopharma' support. She believes that TTY Biopharma can play the role of Taiwan's leading brand in the field of cancer and a major manufacturer of emergency and critical care drugs, based in Taiwan with a global perspective.

In terms of overseas deployment, TTY Biopharma' well-known liposome technology continues to play a role as a growth engine. The self-produced generic drug for treating systemic invasive fungal infections, Lipo-AB (Amphotericin B), has obtained pharmaceutical certificates in Taiwan and the United States, bringing stable income. TTY Biopharma' domestically produced difficult-to-sell generic drugs have also expanded to European and American markets. Sara Hou stated that the company initiated the "ASEAN Pharmaceutical Cooperation Project" last year, focusing resources on the development potential of Vietnam. Over the next three years, more cancer drugs will be launched, and the infectious disease market will be expanded.

Sara Hou stated that TTY Biopharma has grasped its niche in the field of cancer, continuously introducing new drugs, conducting clinical trials, adding indications, and adopting cooperation with international giants to expand its portfolio of cancer-related drugs. This year's performance is expected to be fruitful.

Regarding "licensing new international drugs," TTY Biopharma has been the agent for CSL Seqirus, a major European and American influenza vaccine manufacturer, for five consecutive years, and will continue to participate in public bidding this year. Sara Hou further explained that this is not only to introduce the latest international influenza vaccines domestically but also to meet the demand of Taiwan's aging society by introducing self-pay adjuvant influenza vaccines for adults aged 65 and older, hoping to provide the most suitable vaccine choices for different age groups.

TTY Biopharma continues to invest resources and has successfully developed the new domestic antibiotic Polymyxin B, responding firmly to clinical medical needs and helping to address potential national antibiotic security crises. The production line at the Liudu factory, which meets international standards and has passed inspections, has achieved remarkable results in the "production of new domestic drugs" aspect.
