To alleviate the feelings of helplessness and uncertainty that patients often face when confronting amputation and prosthetic fitting, providing a visual preview of how the chosen prosthetic will integrate with the amputated limb during movement can significantly aid in selecting the most suitable prosthesis. Lixel Co., Ltd. has partnered with the Disability Rehabilitation Center at Taipei Veterans General Hospital to introduce globally innovative glasses-free 3D imaging and air interaction technology. This allows patients to naturally and easily view a three-dimensional prosthetic image combined with a simulated limb, projected onto the device’s surface. They can intuitively select and switch between different prosthetic types and materials in mid-air, visually combining them with the simulated amputated limb. This enables patients to preview and feel the appearance and functionality of the prosthetic post-installation, reducing feelings of helplessness and uncertainty, and allowing patients and their families to participate in the prosthetic selection process with greater confidence.
