Foresee Pharmaceuticals recently announced a series of innovative advancements aimed at solidifying its leadership in the complex field of long-acting injectable (LAI) products. These advancements include the launch of four novel and proprietary Stabilized Injectable Formulation-Long-Acting Injectable (SIF-LAI) drug delivery systems: SIF-ADAGIOTM, SIF-LEGATOTM, SIF-DUOTM, and SIF-MEZZOTM.
Foresee noted that the company has already established its first product derived from the SIF technology platform, CAMCEVI, and has continually developed and expanded this platform from technical, intellectual property, and product development perspectives. This ongoing effort reinforces Foresee's leadership in the LAI field.
Given the complexity of long-acting injectables, which require deep expertise, highly specialized technology, and extensive experience, very few companies possess the capability to develop a flexible and adaptable technology platform like Foresee’s SIF platform.
Foresee has developed four distinct SIF-LAI drug delivery systems, each offering greater flexibility and enabling continuous innovation in the development of complex LAI products. The company plans to gradually unveil more information about these new SIF drug delivery systems in the future.
Foresee highlighted that its commercially available product, CAMCEVI, was developed using the SIF-ADAGIOTM drug delivery system, which is based on biodegradable polymers. This system is also being applied to other products, including FP-014, a best-in-class, pre-filled, subcutaneous, long-acting injectable formulation of triptorelin available in three-month and six-month dosages.
The SIF-LEGATOTM system is an innovative lipid-based combination system with the unique advantage of allowing a high drug loading capacity, making it highly adaptable to various drug substances and product characteristics. This SIF-LAI drug delivery system is currently being applied to several early-stage neurological products within Foresee’s portfolio.
SIF-DUOTM is a solution-based drug delivery system that Foresee is using to develop several early-stage psychiatric LAI products. Additionally, the SIF-MEZZOTM drug delivery system is still in the development and optimization phase.
