TaiGen Biopharmaceuticals Partners with Insilico Medicine for AI-Driven CKD Anemia DrugDec 15, 2025
TaiGen Biotechnology has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Insilico Medicine to develop and commercialize ISM4808, a potential best-in-class PHD inhibitor for treating Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) anemia.
Licensing Rights: TaiGen secures exclusive rights for further development, commercialization, and sub-licensing in the Greater China region (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan).
Technology: ISM4808 was designed using Insilico’s generative AI engine, Chemistry42. Remarkably, the design-to-testing phase was completed within just 12 months.
Market Potential: CKD anemia affects 1 in 7 patients. In China alone, there are over a million dialysis patients. The market for oral PHD inhibitors has exploded from RMB 50 million to RMB 2.45 billion in five years, as oral drugs replace traditional injectable erythropoietin (EPO) for better patient compliance.
Clinical Status: The project received IND (Investigational New Drug) clearance from China's CDE in 2023.
