As South Korea’s younger generation embraces the “MZ Diet” trend—achieving a leaner physique through blood glucose stabilization—Taiwan is seeing the rise of new weight-loss approaches that integrate glucose-monitoring technology with metabolic observation. Health2Sync, Asia’s largest chronic disease digital management platform, has introduced the “8-Week CGM Weight-Loss Program”, which combines continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) with personalized data analysis. The program helps users understand their body’s data to develop customized and sustainable weight management strategies.
According to Taiwan’s Health Promotion Administration, as of 2020, 50.3% of adults aged 18 and older were overweight or obese. Among young adults aged 25 to 39, long-term reliance on eating out, sedentary habits, and stress-driven lifestyles have led to higher body fat percentages and increasing metabolic risks. Nearly one-quarter of adults in Taiwan are affected by metabolic syndrome. Even before being diagnosed with diabetes or hypertension, excess fat accumulation is strongly associated with diabetes, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and pre-hypertension, posing long-term pressure on public health and medical resources.
Weight management, therefore, is no longer merely about appearance but about how the body responds to every dietary choice and lifestyle decision. A study published in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology (April 2025) highlighted the close connection between weight loss and glucose regulation, showing that stabilizing blood sugar fluctuations not only helps curb hunger but also boosts metabolism and prevents muscle loss. These insights form a core design principle of Health2Sync’s 8-week program.
CGM technology involves a subcutaneous sensor that continuously tracks blood glucose and generates 24-hour glucose curve data. This enables users to see how diet, exercise, and medication affect blood sugar, allowing for more precise management while providing clinicians with valuable insights for diagnosis and treatment adjustments.
Unlike invasive weight-loss approaches such as liposuction or injectables, the 8-Week CGM Weight-Loss Program was developed by Health2Sync together with nutritionists. Emphasizing behavioral change, the program uses CGM data to design weight-loss tasks and deliver personalized nutrition analysis through a digitalized and automated process. Over the 8 weeks, participants use the app to identify which foods and habits cause sharp glucose fluctuations, enabling them to adjust diet, exercise, and daily routines based on data rather than willpower or guesswork.
Dr. Sheng-Po Chiu, Director of Metagoso Clinic in Taipei, commented:
“We see in clinical practice that successful weight loss depends not only on how much you eat, but also on what you eat and when you eat. Blood glucose data provides a new entry point, showing concrete evidence of how food impacts the body, rather than relying on guesswork. CGM allows us to understand individual differences in metabolic response and find the most suitable dietary adjustments. For those seeking weight management, this is an effective tool for long-term body stability, not just a short-term solution.”
Results from the program show that participants lost an average of 2.5 kg over 8 weeks, with a 3.4% reduction in body weight. Overall satisfaction scored 4.5 out of 5, and the Net Promoter Score (NPS)—a common benchmark in service quality—reached +63. Users reported: “Thanks to this program, I was able to recognize my problems, gain new insights, and correct misconceptions. The program helped me lose weight effectively without the stress of someone monitoring me directly.” Post-program follow-up also revealed positive changes in participants’ dietary and exercise habits, fulfilling the program’s mission of “seeing data, changing behavior.”
The program is available in two formats:
