Tanvex-KY announced on the 27th that it has completed the re-election of its board of directors and supervisors. Following an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting, the newly formed board elected Bobby Sheng, Chairman of the Bora Group, as Chairman of Tanvex BioPharma.
The new Tanvex board consists of four seats held by the Bora Group (including two independent directors nominated by Bora), three seats from the RunTai Group (including two independent directors nominated by RunTai), one seat held by Henry Chen representing Delos Capital Fund, and one seat held by Tanvex founder Allen Chao.
Bobby Sheng stated that with the completion of large molecule process technology infrastructure and the establishment of an aseptic fill-and-finish facility, Tanvex now offers comprehensive end-to-end manufacturing capabilities. This is especially advantageous in the early stages of biotech drug development, where flexible and customer-centric services are critical for shared growth with clients.
Globally, there remains a shortage of facilities that have passed U.S. FDA inspections and are capable of large-scale commercial production of biologics. Tanvex’s cGMP facility in San Diego is one such rare asset. Amid rising geopolitical and trade tensions, this unique positioning makes Tanvex a strategic partner for international biotech clients.
As part of the new board lineup, Tanvex CEO Stephen Lam has also joined the board. He noted that since the formal merger with Bora Group on January 20, Tanvex has been actively integrating the resources of the former Bora Biologics and Tanvex BioPharma. By leveraging the well-established Bora Biologics brand, which has proven success in the CDMO market, the company has already seen positive momentum. In Q1, it received over 10 CDMO Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and multiple inquiries for late-stage commercial production—an all-time high.
Furthermore, the newly integrated Bora Biologics CDMO platform has extended into pre-IND stage development of innovative antibodies, including multi-specific immune checkpoint T-cell engager antibodies. The antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) technology platform has also continued to mature following the expansion of the company’s Zhubei facility.
Stephen Lam added that with the support of Bora Group’s global resources, Tanvex is well positioned to respond more proactively and effectively to the evolving needs of the industry. As domestic commercial-scale manufacturing capabilities become increasingly sought after in the U.S., Tanvex is committed to delivering unparalleled support and innovation to clients in the biologics development space.
