Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Becomes First in Taiwan to Receive Top-Tier Digital Certifications from HIMSSMar 28, 2025

Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital announced that it was the first in Taiwan to receive the highest-level certifications for the Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM) and IT Infrastructure Adoption Model (INFRAM) from the U.S.-based Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) in 2019 and again last year. It also achieved a perfect score on the HIMSS Digital Health Indicator (DHI), ranking first globally.

Continuing its leadership in healthcare digitalization, Linkou Chang Gung recently earned the top-level certification for the Digital Imaging Adoption Model (DIAM) from HIMSS, becoming the first medical institution in Taiwan to do so. This marks the first on-site visit by international experts from Canada, South Korea, Singapore, and Australia since the pandemic, and the hospital received high praise during the assessment, solidifying its position among the world’s leaders in digital medical imaging.

The DIAM certification covered multiple clinical departments and support units, including plastic surgery, endocrinology, gastroenterology, cardiology, nephrology, and the Department of Medical Imaging. The evaluation showcased the hospital’s AI inference platform and internally developed AI assistant (generative AI), demonstrating how these tools support physicians in integrating clinical data and making informed decisions, highlighting a high level of operational integration.

Thanks to the adoption of AI technologies, the medical team has significantly improved diagnostic accuracy and operational efficiency across several key areas. For instance, AI-powered fundus cameras and electrocardiograms assist in the early detection of retinal diseases and arrhythmias, expediting lesion identification and clinical decision support. Structured reporting and automated workflows have also enhanced documentation consistency and data usability.

Hospital Superintendent Chen Chien Tsung emphasized that AI is an emerging force in healthcare that can greatly enhance clinical decision-making and medical efficiency. Linkou Chang Gung will continue advancing intelligent clinical applications, expanding AI implementation and training across the hospital. The goal is to broaden the scope of smart healthcare in patient care, clinical decision-making, operations management, and talent development—ultimately building a more efficient, precise, and patient-centered intelligent healthcare system.
