Taichung Veterans General Hospital and Avance Clinical Sign MOU to Accelerate New Drug DevelopmentMar 24, 2025

On the 20th, Taichung Veterans General Hospital (TVGH) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Avance Clinical, a renowned international clinical research organization based in Australia. The agreement was signed by TVGH Superintendent Yun-Ching Fu and Avance Clinical CEO Yvonne Lungershausen, aiming to advance clinical research and accelerate the development of new drugs in areas including cancer, metabolic diseases, rare diseases, and cellular immunotherapy.

This collaboration stems from a shared vision of promoting innovative drug development. It covers Phase I to Phase IV clinical trials, with a focus on enhancing trial capabilities, regulatory compliance, efficiency, and data quality.

Yun-Ching Fu stated that TVGH has long been committed to clinical research and medical innovation, with extensive experience in clinical trials and expertise in regenerative medicine. He highlighted TVGH’s leading role in CAR-T cell therapy, ranking second nationwide in case numbers with a 100% cure rate. He emphasized that this partnership will accelerate the development of innovative cancer therapies and other breakthrough treatments, ultimately benefiting patients worldwide.

Yvonne Lungershausen pointed out that Taiwan boasts a well-regulated environment, rapid trial initiation timelines, and highly experienced clinical research teams, making it an ideal hub for early-phase clinical trials. She praised TVGH as a strong and capable partner, further strengthening Avance Clinical’s ability to support global biotech advancements and effectively leverage Asia’s leading clinical research ecosystem.

This collaboration marks Avance Clinical’s expansion into Taiwan and aligns with its “Asia Advantage” initiative, which aims to provide biotech companies with efficient clinical trial solutions across Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, and South Korea. The initiative facilitates seamless cross-regional trials, accelerating trial initiation, improving patient recruitment efficiency, and enhancing the overall reliability and effectiveness of clinical trials—ultimately bringing more innovative treatment options to patients worldwide.
