Ever Fortune’s first generative AI solution is the "gHi System," developed in collaboration with China Medical University Hospital and Microsoft. This system is the first healthcare generative AI solution tailored for the Chinese-speaking market, set to be showcased at the Taiwan Medical Technology Exhibition in late 2023 alongside China Medical University Hospital, attracting considerable attention.
Lee Yu-Cheng, General Manager of Ever Fortune, stated, "Given the current manpower shortages in the healthcare sector, especially the heavy workload on nurses, long handover times prevent many hospitals from maximizing bed availability." He explained that nurses spend over an hour on average for each handover, which is a key issue the gHi System aims to address. "If we can lighten their load, it will significantly improve their workload. Our generative AI can handle complex natural language processing, reducing handover time from over an hour to about 10 minutes."
The gHi System features an exclusive bilingual (Chinese and English) medical speech recognition engine combined with the powerful GPT-4 model provided by Microsoft. This enables accurate processing of specialized medical terminology, recognizing healthcare professionals’ speech and supporting real-time generation of transcripts and medical summaries. With just a minute of dictation from medical staff, the gHi System can rapidly produce transcripts and medical summaries, reducing writing time by up to 75% and enhancing overall work efficiency, allowing healthcare workers to focus more on patient care.
The applications of the gHi System extend beyond nursing handovers; it can also enhance consultation efficiency. Lee added, "When patients visit a doctor, the doctor often spends most of their time staring at the computer, typing and inputting data, with only occasional moments to look up at the patient. We aim to allow doctors to focus on their consultations without being distracted by cumbersome data entry tasks."
Currently, several large hospitals have expressed interest in the gHi System and are in discussions for potential collaboration. Because the gHi System consists of two main parts—speech recognition and text conversion—Ever Fortune can customize solutions based on client needs to fit different healthcare environments.
Yizhi Jian: AI-Assisted Diet and Nutrition Management
In addition to healthcare applications, Ever Fortune’s second generative AI initiative targets the health and weight management market, launching a system called "Yizhi Jian."
This system uses generative AI technology to help users manage their weight and provide personalized dietary recommendations. Lee noted that modern individuals place a high value on shaping their body image. Ever Fortune has designed a new dietary and nutrition control system based on extensive deep learning and generative AI techniques, capable of identifying the nutritional content and calorie count of meals, calculating and predicting caloric intake, and assisting users in weight control.
Using Yizhi Jian is simple; users take a photo of their meal with their smartphone and upload it to the cloud. The system automatically recognizes the food and provides the user with the calorie and nutritional values, offering personalized suggestions based on individual circumstances. For instance, if the user overeats during one meal, the system advises what to eat for the next meal and what nutrients to supplement, starting from the moment the first meal is consumed.
"This system can currently recognize Chinese, Western, Japanese, and Italian cuisine, but Chinese food presents the most challenges due to the complexity of ingredients and cooking methods, making identification more difficult," explained Lee.
To address this challenge, the Yizhi Jian system employs generative AI techniques, providing appropriate prompts combined with large language models to optimize the recognition of Chinese cuisine, thereby offering users more accurate nutritional advice.
Scalp Health Management: AI Predictions and Daily Care Solutions
Ever Fortune’s third generative AI project is a client-commissioned scalp health management system that uses generative AI for scalp management. This system evaluates the current condition of the scalp, predicts future hair growth outcomes, and provides daily management solutions.
The system can predict scalp health conditions for five, ten, or even twenty years into the future. Users simply upload photos of their scalps, and the system automatically analyzes scalp health and offers daily care recommendations.
Lee emphasized, "The application of generative AI in scalp health management can not only assess the current scalp condition but also conduct long-term health predictions based on historical data. While there are certain limitations to this application, its primary goal is to remind users to pay attention to their health and to seek early care."
Users are encouraged to track their scalp condition every two months, and the system will update recommendations based on the latest data, ensuring effective care. This feature can provide early warnings before scalp conditions deteriorate, achieving the principle of "prevention is better than cure."
