Yesterday, TTY Biopharm held an investor conference where General Manager Sara Hou announced that the company’s revenue for the first half of the year reached NT$2.65 billion, a 9% increase, driven by the sales of two products, Lipo-AB, which began shipping to the United States in 2023. The company reported a gross profit margin of 60% and earnings per share (EPS) of NT$2.2. Hou projected that Lipo-AB would be shipped to more countries in the next one to two years.
Hou emphasized that TTY Biopharm is continuously working on optimizing formulations, aiming to increase batch production while negotiating contracts across various European regions. The goal is to expand Lipo-AB’s distribution globally in the near future. She also mentioned that the company’s microsphere products are expected to achieve significant results by 2026, marking a major milestone in the development of complex generic drugs.
Vietnam, a developing market with close ties to Taiwan, is one of the key Southeast Asian markets targeted by TTY Biopharm. The company is currently working with local teams to plan future product offerings in line with Taiwan’s government’s southward policy. TTY Biopharm has signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with four hospitals in Vietnam, with the goal of providing diverse treatment options for various types of cancer once licenses are obtained.
Regarding licensed drugs, Hou noted that the key products are Lonsurf and TS-1. Lonsurf is used for treating colorectal cancer (CRC), and TS-1 is used for breast cancer. Recently, Lonsurf received approval for combined use with monoclonal antibodies and targeted therapies, while TS-1 has been approved for early-stage breast cancer, offering new hope for more patients.
Hou stressed that TTY Biopharm’s core strategy is a three-pronged approach: focusing on licensing new drugs, primarily for cancer treatment, while continuing to introduce new products. Additionally, with government policies encouraging pharmaceutical companies to develop their own drugs, TTY Biopharm will persist in its research and development efforts, aiming to create more products in the liposome and microsphere categories.
