KenKone Medical Partners with Keio University Hospital to Establish Intelligent Endoscopy CenterAug 25, 2024

KenKone Medical announced on the 23rd that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Japan's renowned Keio University Hospital to jointly establish an Intelligent Endoscopy Center. This center will incorporate KenKone Medical’s cutting-edge generative AI and speech recognition technology-based product, EVAS, with the goal of optimizing medical procedures.

KenKone Medical's EVAS, leveraging generative AI and speech recognition technology, has successfully integrated an open-source large language model (LLM) with years of accumulated medical data and KenKone’s proprietary Medical LLM. This integration has enabled their physician assistant tool, EVAS, to excel in tasks such as summarization, keyword extraction, error correction, and medical record generation.

The system has already been validated in clinical settings both domestically and internationally, demonstrating its ability to assist medical professionals by providing real-time documentation during surgeries, proactively highlighting key points in treatment, and generating medical records. This significantly reduces the documentation burden on clinical staff while ensuring the comprehensive recording of patient conditions.

As part of the collaboration, KenKone Medical will provide the EVAS system, while Keio University Hospital will participate in the localization of the product for the Japanese market and conduct field testing. Through this partnership, Keio University Hospital will become a demonstration site for the implementation of this technology in Japan.

KenKone Medical's CEO and founder, Wade Liao, stated, "This collaboration with Keio University Hospital not only drives technological innovation but also promotes long-term development in the field of medical technology for both parties. We look forward to using this platform to offer more effective treatment options for patients and to expand our presence in the international market."

Kato Motohiko, Director of the Endoscopy Center at Keio University Hospital, also commented, "Our partnership with KenKone Medical provides us with the opportunity to apply innovative technology in clinical practice, which will significantly enhance the quality of healthcare services and streamline the physician reporting process."
