Healthy Ageing Tech Show to Open on August 2: Key ODM Players Showcase InnovationsJul 30, 2024

The annual "health party" is here! The inaugural Healthy Ageing Tech Show, co-organized by the IBMI & RBMP, the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the National Health Research Institutes, and the Department of Digital Development, will be held from August 2 to 4 at the Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1. This three-day event has attracted numerous major enterprises eager to showcase their latest innovations. Leading ODM companies, including Wistron, Inventec, and Compal, have confirmed their participation, targeting both domestic and international markets and vying for opportunities in the booming silver economy.

Reports indicate that these top three ODM companies have leveraged their years of investment and development in smart healthcare to penetrate the "silver economy" from various angles. Among them, Compal Electronics stands out with its mature layout. Compal will participate alongside its subsidiary, HippoScreen Neurotech Corp, which recently won the "2024 Taiwan BIO Awards" for its self-developed "Brainwave Stress Assessment System," earning the "Annual Industry Innovation Award."

In recent years, Compal has made significant strides in biotech and medical achievements. In addition to winning the 2024 Taiwan BIO Award, senior vice president Chuan-De Shen represented Compal at the Presidential Office in April to receive the "National Biotechnology and Medical Care Quality Award," the highest honor in Taiwan's biomedical sector. In response to the AI wave, Compal has integrated AI technology into its precision medicine and telemedicine products, leveraging its 5G communication and IoT strengths to continuously launch new products, resulting in a significant increase in overall gross profit margin, now surpassing that of its PC segment.

Similarly, Wistron has benefited from the AI boom in recent years, showcasing excellent performance. Its subsidiary, Wistron Medical Technology, established in 2016, continues to harness the group's accumulated technology and supply chain strengths. Collaborating with internal and external partners, Wistron Medical Technology aims to create a medical product and service ecosystem that drives industry value and optimizes user experience. At the upcoming Healthy Ageing Tech Show, Wistron will participate alongside the National Health Research Institutes, attracting significant attention.

Inventec, a major ODM player, has long been committed to smart healthcare, leveraging its extensive experience in ICT and product innovation to strategically develop medical devices. Focusing on the prevention of cancer and the top ten causes of death in Taiwan, Inventec's subsidiary, Inventec Appliances, has expanded into medical electronics since 2016, integrating hardware and software development and production capabilities. They have developed several medical testing systems, receiving widespread acclaim.

According to WHO statistics, only 5% of the global population is truly healthy. With an aging population and increasing numbers of elderly living alone, many parents wish not to burden their children. Inventec Appliances sees hidden opportunities in HAH (hospital at home) and has successfully developed the "Family Health Total Solution System" after years of effort. This system provides a comprehensive range of precise physiological measurements, breaking the traditional model of inpatient treatment and allowing users to receive hospital-like care at home. By securing a position in the silver economy, Inventec Appliances has captured significant business opportunities. At the Healthy Ageing Tech Show, Inventec Appliances will showcase its latest innovations in collaboration with the Department of Industrial Technology, MOEA, sparking widespread curiosity.
