Yieh Phui Enterprise announced that it participated in a private placement of 3,200 ordinary shares in UnicoCell through its 100%-owned subsidiary, for a total amount of $208 million, at a price of $26 per share, a discount of approximately 30.7% based on UnicoCell's closing price of $37.55 yesterday.

Yieh Phui said that the purpose of the acquisition was mainly for the company's diversified operation and business development. An affiliated company of the E United Group which operates E-Da Hospital, more collaborations from both sides can be expected. 

UnicoCell focuses on the application of stem cell technology in the field of regenerative medicine, and has built a comprehensive allogeneic cell bank of adipose stem cells in accordance with the ICH protocols, to provide clinical trials of new drugs and other research units for various indications.

In addition, UnicoCell's new stem cell drug "ELIXCYTE" is used in the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee and chronic kidney disease, and stem cell derivation technology is used in the development of retinal degenerative diseases and other regenerative medicine applications.
