MiiS approved for its disposable endoscopeJan 30, 2023

Medimaging Integrated Solution Inc. (MiiS)'s self-developed and manufactured disposable endoscopes have obtained the Taiwan Ministry of Health and Welfare's TFDA Class II medical device license and the US FDA 510(k).

Compared to traditional endoscopes, which require cleaning and sterilisation and limit the number of patients using them, MiiS's disposable endoscopes have the advantage of preventing infection and increasing hospital revenue.

According to statistics, the demand for disposable endoscopes in the U.S. is about 10 million units, and the current market share of Ambu, a Danish medical materials company, is the highest. MiiS is aimed at a 10% to 20% of market share and a minimum 10% of revenue generated by disposable endoscopes.

The company's AI wound care software is the first innovative medical device in Taiwan, so the Ministry of Health and Welfare has taken longer than expected to review and validate the product, but feedback from hospitals shows that the AI wound care software can accurately control wound recovery and accelerate wound healing through precise drug delivery.

The AI Wound Care Software can be used in hospitals and clinics as well as in long-term care centres, where caregivers can use the product to track the wound condition of the elderly and further integrate it with dressing companies to achieve precise medical treatment; after obtaining certification in the future, it is planned to offer the product through selling, rental and top-up programme.

In terms of the telemedicine market, MiiS believes that although the epidemic is slowing down and normal life is gradually returning, the growth of the telemedicine market is slowing down at the same time.
