NTU Cancer Center inaugurates Yongling BuildingNov 14, 2022

The NTUCC Radiation Science and Proton Therapy Centre at Branch of National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) was inaugurated at a ceremony held on the 13th, and the main building was named the Yongling Building, announcing the start of clinical services. During his speech, the NTU team frequently thanked the founder of the Yongling Foundation, Terry Guo, who was behind the speech, saying that today he felt particularly strongly about the phrase "it is more blessed to give than to receive".

In addition to the newly completed main building of the Radiation Centre, which is named the Yongling Building, NTUCC's health care building also bears the name of Guo's mother, Yongzhen Building.

In his speech, Mr. Guo said that the reason for dedicating his parents' name to NTU Cancer Hospital was to provide "eternal" and "sincere" services and to give patients a chance to survive for a hundred years.

At the ceremony, NTU Hospital Cancer Center Branch President James Yang, NTU President Chung-Ming Kuan, Vice President Shang-Chun Chang, Dean of the School of Medicine Yen-Hsien Ni, NTU Hospital President Ming-Hsien Wu, and NTU Hospital Cancer Center Branch Honorary Dean An-Li Cheng were all present to share the joy of the collaboration between NTU and Yongling.

With the increasing demand for cancer treatment, diagnosis and prevention, the completion of the radiation building is the last piece of the puzzle to provide complete cancer treatment at the NTU Cancer Center Branch, thanks to the kindness of the founder of the Foundation.

This is the largest donation in the history of NTU, and is rare in the world. It shows the "power of goodness" in Taiwan society, not for a few, but for the family. This is a demonstration of the "power of good" in Taiwanese society, not for the few, but to do what we can for our families, to improve the suffering of the people of Taiwan when they get cancer and even to find a cure.
