Introduction
Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) allows a comprehensive examination of the heart without interrupting CPR. According to AHA guidelines, the compression location should be located in the middle of the line connecting two nipples. However, compressions during CPR might impinge upon left ventricle to the aorta, therefore, hindering blood flow during compressions.
Features / strengths
We apply TEE to observe the most suitable point for compressions based on each individual’s characteristics. Furthermore, TEE can immediately identify patients with acute pulmonary embolism and/or aortic dissection.
