German biopharmaceutical firm Formycon AG and Lotus Pharmaceutical announced on March 11 the execution of an exclusive licensing agreement for FYB206, a biosimilar candidate for Keytruda® (Pembrolizumab), covering the Asia-Pacific region.

  • Clinical Timeline: FYB206 is nearing the end of its clinical development phase, with primary endpoint data expected in Q1 2026. Following the data readout, both parties will initiate regulatory filings and market launch preparations tailored to specific regional requirements.
  • Market Potential: As a humanized monoclonal antibody and immune checkpoint inhibitor, Pembrolizumab is one of the world's top-selling drugs, with global sales reaching $31.7 billion in 2025. The APAC market alone is estimated at $7 billion.
  • Financial Terms: Formycon will receive an upfront payment, followed by additional development and regulatory milestones. Post-launch, Formycon will benefit from a profit-sharing mechanism based on net sales and will remain responsible for the manufacturing and stable supply of the finished drug product.
