A trade delegation organized by IBMI has arrived in Dubai for a six-day business development and exchange mission. On the first day (September 8), the delegation was invited to attend the World Health Expo (WHX Tech), co-hosted by Informa Markets and HIMSS. This marks the first major international expo in the Middle East focused on digital healthcare, highlighting innovations in artificial intelligence, telemedicine, smart hospitals, and medical devices.
WHX specially arranged for the delegation members to deliver keynote presentations. Teams from Taipei Veterans General Hospital, FaceHeart, V5med, ABH Healthtech, FITZ INC., DeepRad.AI, FEMET., and Maxtek showcased Taiwan’s innovation and technological strength in the medical sector. Following the presentations, one-on-one matching sessions were held to promote concrete collaboration between Taiwanese and Middle Eastern companies.
The delegation is led by IBMI board member and Director of the National Taiwan University Healthcare System Management Center, Yen-Hsuan Ni. During the presentations, he emphasized to Middle Eastern partners that Taiwan not only possesses world-leading ICT and semiconductor industries but also a robust healthcare system. He stressed that IBMI will serve as a key platform for bilateral collaboration, jointly advancing global medical technology and digital health.
Deputy leader and IBMI CEO Chou Jih-haw noted that in recent years, Middle Eastern companies have actively participated in Taiwan’s medical technology exhibitions, reflecting strong interest in collaboration. This mission aims not only to return the visit but also to expand local strategic channels and partners, accelerating the internationalization of Taiwan’s medical technology.
During the following days, the delegation will meet with major medical institutions including the Arab Hospital Federation, Mediclinic City Hospital (ranked among the top 100 smart hospitals globally), Dubai Health Authority, and Fakeeh University Hospital. The itinerary also includes visits to Dubai Healthcare City and the Science Park, as well as discussions with cross-border venture capital and strategic investment groups TVM and M42, further expanding cooperation and investment opportunities between Taiwan and the Middle East in medical technology.
