On September 9, the IBMI delegation met with Mr. Maher Abouzeid, CEO of Dubai-based investment firm TVM Capital. With headquarters in Dubai and Singapore, TVM Capital focuses on growth-stage investments in the healthcare sector, primarily across the Middle East and North Africa, including the Gulf countries and North African region. Over the years, the team has completed over 120 investments, more than 50 IPOs, and over 30 M&A exits, managing capital exceeding USD 1 billion.
During the meeting, CEO Abouzeid shared that TVM has established a dedicated Southeast Asia fund actively seeking investment and collaboration opportunities. The fund recently completed a USD 100 million capital raise in Singapore and plans to visit Taiwan by the end of the year for MEDTEX, to further assess investment potential in medical technology, digital healthcare, and precision medicine.
Dubai Chambers Breakfast Meeting Promotes Bilateral Business Connections
In the morning, the IBMI delegation held a breakfast meeting with Dubai Chambers, an organization comprising the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, the International Chamber of Commerce, and the Digital Economy Chamber. Its mission includes promoting trade and investment, assisting companies in business development, and supporting SMEs. Dubai Chambers representative Mr. Marwan Al Marri explained that around 90% of Dubai’s healthcare market is private, and all residents and expatriates are required to have health insurance. Dubai Chambers expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with IBMI to support international healthcare enterprises entering the market and hopes to foster more exchanges with Taiwanese medical technology teams at future exhibitions.

The delegation also reported success during two consecutive days of WHX B2B matching. FEMET. reached a consensus with Dubai Health to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly promote a medical tourism cooperation platform spanning Taiwan, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Dubai Health, established by the Dubai government in 2023, is an official healthcare group and service brand that integrates public hospitals and clinics, aiming to position Dubai as a key hub for international medical innovation and medical tourism.
