BRIGHTEN OPTIX announced that its subsidiary, Hangzhou Boshidun Optical Technology Co., Ltd., officially obtained a medical device registration certificate on May 27 from China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for its orthokeratology (Ortho-K) lenses. This marks the third OK lens product from the group to be registered in the Chinese market and the first locally manufactured and distributed product in China. The company expects to complete product planning by the end of the year and officially launch into the Chinese OK lens market under its own domestic brand. Given that domestically produced OK lenses currently account for over half of the overall market in China, the strategic branding efforts in Hangzhou are anticipated to significantly boost the market share of BRIGHTEN OPTIX's three main brands—Hiline, myOK, and the Hangzhou domestic brand.
In addition, BRIGHTEN OPTIX has officially signed a share swap agreement with Carl Zeiss Vision International GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Germany’s optical and optoelectronic technology leader Carl Zeiss AG. Under the terms of the agreement, Carl Zeiss will acquire all outstanding shares of BRIGHTEN OPTIX at a cash consideration of NT$200 per share, as registered in the shareholder roster before the suspension of stock transfers on the reference date.
To proceed, BRIGHTEN OPTIX will convene an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting on July 22 to vote on the share swap plan and to propose the delisting of its stock from the OTC market and termination of its public company status. Upon shareholder approval and clearance from relevant regulatory authorities, BRIGHTEN OPTIX will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Carl Zeiss. The transaction is expected to be completed, including delisting procedures, by the first quarter of 2026.
BRIGHTEN OPTIX noted that, driven by continued market recovery in China and strong growth across emerging markets in the Asia-Pacific region, its consolidated revenue for the first five months of the year reached NT$319 million, marking a 2.85% year-over-year increase and a record high for the same period. In particular, OK lens sales for myopia management in China grew by 16% year-over-year during this period. Sales momentum in newly developed Asia-Pacific markets, including Australia, was even stronger, registering 23% growth. Moving forward, the company will continue investing in the R&D and manufacturing of vision performance-enhancing products to further strengthen its technological edge and broaden the application scope of its optometric solutions.
