Driving Medical Digital Transformation: Healthconn’s Automated Testing Solution Adopted by Hospitals Across TaiwanMay 28, 2025

Foxconn Technology Group's Healthconn has been deepening its presence in the smart healthcare sector, with its subsidiary CONING TECHNOLOGY launching an automated laboratory testing solution that has now been successfully adopted by more than 20 medical institutions across Taiwan. These include medical centers, regional hospitals, and local hospitals, spanning northern, central, southern, and eastern regions, demonstrating the system’s adaptability and maturity in diverse clinical environments and effectively addressing the needs of various healthcare settings.

Clinical testing plays an increasingly vital role in the diagnostic process. However, traditional laboratory workflows are labor-intensive, complex, and often inefficient. Inadequate integration and optimization of specimen transport and storage can further impact workflow smoothness and space utilization. With limited availability of professional medical staff, achieving both testing quality and operational efficiency has become a pressing issue for healthcare institutions.

Ying-Shi Huang, Chairman of Healthconn, stated that the true value of smart healthcare lies in its ability to solve real-world problems in clinical settings. “Through automation and data-driven approaches, we aim to support medical teams in enhancing care quality and enable healthcare professionals to apply their expertise more effectively, ultimately delivering more timely and accurate medical services to patients and their families.” The automated testing solution, developed by CONING TECHNOLOGY under Healthconn, embodies this patient-centric, efficiency-oriented philosophy.

CONING TECHNOLOGY’s solution integrates data management with smart equipment and can be flexibly configured to accommodate the spatial and workflow requirements of different institutions. It offers a fully automated and intelligent process from sample collection, classification, and transport to storage, delivering four key advantages: intelligent end-to-end automation, flexible transport solutions, system integration and workflow coordination, and enhanced efficiency to support clinical decision-making. By digitalizing and standardizing the entire process, the solution ensures precise specimen tracking and improves overall testing efficiency and traceability.

The system can be tailored to each hospital’s layout using pneumatic tubes, belt conveyors, overhead shuttles, or ground robots to support multi-floor and multi-zone specimen transport. It also integrates smart refrigerators for temperature-controlled storage and expiry alerts. By connecting with mainstream clinical testing instruments—such as those for hematology, biochemistry, immunology, and urinalysis—it streamlines the specimen handling process and supports use cases across emergency, inpatient, outpatient, and health screening departments. The automated system can replace over 80% of repetitive tasks, allowing laboratory personnel to focus on high-value responsibilities such as interpreting results and quality control, thereby enhancing overall care efficiency.

Healthconn noted that the automated testing solution has already delivered notable outcomes at several major medical centers in Taiwan. Looking ahead, CONING TECHNOLOGY plans to continue advancing smart healthcare applications by integrating artificial intelligence to further strengthen predictive alerts for abnormal specimens and flagging irregular test values, thereby enhancing testing performance and operational accuracy. The company is also actively exploring overseas markets, aiming to bring Taiwan’s smart healthcare capabilities to the global stage and create greater value for international healthcare systems.
