TPEx has announced that Yoda Therapeutics-KY has initiated its first public offering and applied for listing on the Emerging Stock Board. Based on the current timeline, the company could begin trading on the board as early as mid-to-late May.
Yoda Therapeutics-KY is chaired by Charles G. Lin, founder of Lotus Pharmaceutical. The company is developing YA-101, a novel therapy for Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), a neurodegenerative disease. YA-101 is designed to suppress neuroinflammation and enhance neural plasticity to improve disease outcomes. The drug completed first dosing in a U.S. Phase II clinical trial earlier this year.
YA-101 is a co-development effort between Yoda Therapeutics-KY and Alar Pharmaceuticals. MSA is a rare and rapidly progressing neurodegenerative disorder that causes severe motor impairments, including Parkinsonian and cerebellar symptoms, and may also involve autonomic dysfunction, significantly impacting patients’ quality of life.
Founded on June 21, 2019, Yoda Therapeutics-KY currently has a paid-in capital of NT$793 million. As of February 8, 2025, the board of directors collectively holds 9.17% of the company's shares. The company remains in the drug development stage and has not yet entered commercialization. Its operations are primarily focused on R&D, and it continues to operate at a loss. In 2024, the company reported a pre-tax net loss of NT$192 million, translating to a loss of NT$4.5 per share, based on weighted average outstanding shares of 42.686 million.
