On the opening day of CES 2025, the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) announced a partnership with Singapore's RMT Group and its subsidiary Reliance Medical Technology. Through a soon-to-be-established startup, 艾諾細胞科技, the collaboration will focus on commercializing the "iKNOBeads Bionic Magnetic Bead Immune Cell Manufacturing Technology Platform." This platform is designed to meet the therapeutic needs of cancer and autoimmune diseases, targeting international markets such as the United States to deliver safer and more reliable breakthroughs in immune cell therapy.
Jessica Boothe, Market Research Director at the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), visited ITRI's booth at CES and highlighted the alignment of its innovations with the latest trends, including AI, digital health, and human-centered personalized technologies. She praised products such as "HipBO" and "KneeBO," which assist in post-surgery recovery, and other advancements addressing home healthcare challenges and labor shortages. She also commended the "AI Badminton Coach" for its personalized approach to improving health. Boothe noted that ITRI's technologies are original, globally relevant, and impactful, addressing worldwide challenges and needs—exactly the kind of innovations CES seeks to showcase.
ITRI President Edwin Liu emphasized that CES is one of the world's most influential technology exhibitions and a critical platform for showcasing cutting-edge innovations. This year, ITRI participated under the themes of "HealthTech" and "Smart Care," presenting 10 highlight technologies to demonstrate Taiwan’s advanced R&D capabilities. Liu expressed hope that the international stage would open doors to diversified collaborations, enabling more people to benefit from Taiwan’s innovative applications.
Among the key highlights is ITRI's partnership with RMT Group through the upcoming 艾諾細胞科技 startup, aimed at commercializing the iKNOBeads platform. This technology, recognized with both the Global Top 100 Innovation Award and the Edison Award, is poised to enter the immune cell therapy market as a critical supplier of raw materials within the global immune cell therapy supply chain.
RMT Group President Sean Ishihara stated that smart healthcare is a global trend and a core area of medical innovation and precision medicine. He called the collaboration with ITRI a powerful and ideal partnership, combining ITRI's world-class technological expertise with RMT Group's extensive international resources and distribution networks. Together, they aim to commercialize the iKNOBeads platform, marking their first step toward global market expansion. This groundbreaking technology significantly improves the efficiency of immune cell therapy production and reduces treatment cycles, enhancing the prospects for cancer treatment and patient recovery. Ishihara expressed high expectations for the platform's success in the U.S. market, with simultaneous plans to expand into Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. He anticipated that the technology would become a benchmark in the global biomedical sector.
