Cowealth-KY and Medimaging Integrated Solution (Medimaging) announced on the 27th that they have signed a strategic cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU). Through this commercial strategic collaboration, Cowealth will leverage its expertise in medical distribution and marketing operations, while Medimaging will contribute its technological capabilities in the development of innovative medical devices. The two companies will develop a long-term partnership in product development and market promotion, with an initial focus on the Chinese market, with potential expansion into other overseas markets in the future.
Cowealth is the only medical company listed on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and primarily engages in the introduction of medical devices, making it the largest medical distribution company in the Chinese-speaking market. Joyce Wang, Chairman of Cowealth Medical Holding, stated that the main consideration in collaborating with Medimaging is the "synergistic effect." The complementary strengths of both companies are expected to enable them to jointly offer innovative medical equipment and services to meet clinical needs. Cowealth has been deeply engaged in the Chinese medical market for many years, and leveraging Medimaging’s international experience will help Cowealth expand its distribution network to international markets.
Medimaging specializes in the independent development of innovative medical devices and has rich experience collaborating with international manufacturers, demonstrating its solid development and manufacturing capabilities. Cheng, Chu-Ming, Chairman of Medimaging, expressed that signing the strategic cooperation MOU with Cowealth is a powerful partnership. Cowealth’s established distribution channels in the Greater China medical market will assist Medimaging in developing products that meet clinical needs, with the aim of providing innovative services through cutting-edge technologies. The collaboration is expected to foster more innovative breakthroughs through the combination of Cowealth’s distribution capabilities and Medimaging’s product technologies.
Although Medimaging is currently undergoing a product transformation, it has made significant progress in certifications, which is expected to yield positive results in the future. This includes obtaining a Class I medical device license in Japan for its wound care device, a Class II medical device license in Japan for its disposable cystoscope, and FDA 510(k) clearance in May for its disposable bronchoscope. The company will continue to promote the certification progress of its optical tomography system in China and its disposable bronchoscope in Japan.
