Taiwan's OBI Pharma announced on December 23 that it has signed two agreements—a marketing agreement and a material transfer agreement—with Japan-based GlyTech, a company specializing in glycan production and glycoscience technologies. Through this collaboration, OBI Pharma aims to leverage GlyTech’s expertise to promote its proprietary GlycOBI ADC (antibody-drug conjugate) key technology within Japan’s biotech and pharmaceutical industries, creating a win-win partnership and shared benefits for both parties.

Under the marketing agreement, OBI Pharma has authorized GlyTech to promote its GlycOBI ADC key technology in Japan's biotech and pharmaceutical sectors, identifying potential collaboration partners. Additionally, GlyTech will serve as the primary glycan supplier for the Japanese market. The material transfer agreement stipulates that OBI Pharma will provide its proprietary key materials to enhance the efficiency of glycan (Glycan) production processes while ensuring the quality and stable supply of critical raw materials required for ADC production.

OBI Pharma CEO Heidi Wang noted that GlyTech has long been one of OBI Pharma’s trusted suppliers of high-quality glycan raw materials, with a strong foundation of mutual trust and collaboration. Through this expanded partnership, OBI Pharma will leverage GlyTech’s deep connections in Japan’s biotech sector to secure additional collaboration opportunities. The Japanese industry will benefit from OBI Pharma’s next-generation GlycOBI ADC key technology, which aims to improve the quality and efficiency of new drug development.

Heidi Wang added that both companies plan to collaborate further in research to ensure high-quality glycan production and supply, fostering a mutually beneficial relationship between OBI Pharma, GlyTech, and potential partners.
