SINPHAR Partners with Japan to Enter ASEAN Markets, SynCoreBio to Launch Multiple Licensed Products Next YearDec 20, 2024

SINPHAR and its subsidiary SynCoreBio held a joint investor conference yesterday, during which Chairman Lee Chih-Wen announced that SINPHAR's generic drugs will collaborate with Japanese partners to enter the ASEAN market. Meanwhile, SynCoreBio will focus on developing cancer therapies and functional foods while expediting the acquisition of licenses for its licensed products to diversify its portfolio and boost revenue. Several products are expected to launch progressively by 2025 to support stable growth.

SINPHAR's cumulative revenue for the first 11 months of this year reached NT$2.859 billion, representing a 5% year-over-year increase. The company is implementing its three-pronged operational strategy: expanding the development of generic drugs, advancing new drug R&D and value-added capabilities, and strengthening its comprehensive natural plant extract portfolio. These efforts are supported by investments in marketing, factory facilities, and digitalization.

In terms of product strategy, SINPHAR's generic drugs will continue to introduce new products. In addition to securing certifications in Japan, SINPHAR will collaborate with Japanese partners to penetrate ASEAN markets, including Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Vietnam, with products already entering or preparing to enter these markets. Additionally, SINPHAR will introduce Japanese-origin drugs into the Taiwanese market.

Regarding oncology drugs, Chairman Lee stated that the SINPHAR Group currently has multiple injectable and solid dosage products in mass production. Building on SynCoreBio's experience in developing cancer drugs, the group is in discussions to establish partnerships for key APIs, aiming to achieve an integrated supply chain approach.

In the functional foods sector, SINPHAR is leveraging the success of its patented health supplements and plans to replicate this success with its group’s patented and award-winning anti-fatigue product, along with several other health-certified products. More than 10 new products are planned for release, which are expected to drive a new wave of growth.

For SynCoreBio, ongoing R&D efforts remain centered on its EndoTAG platform technology, aimed at optimizing product designs and advancing international business expansion. Given the sustained expenses associated with new drug development, SynCoreBio will prioritize the development of cancer therapies and functional foods. The company also plans to expedite the acquisition of licenses for its licensed products, with several new products expected to launch progressively by 2025 to enhance revenue growth.
