Contract Manufacturing Giants to Showcase Innovations at Healthcare+ Expo Taiwan on December 5, Seizing Opportunities with AI-driven SolutionsDec 04, 2024

Taiwan's smart healthcare industry has reached new heights of maturity. The "Big Four" contract manufacturers—Quanta, Wistron, Inventec, and Compal—have emerged as leaders in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into practical medical applications. These companies have developed a range of AI-powered healthcare solutions and are set to unveil new products at the 2024 Healthcare+ Expo Taiwan, kicking off this Thursday (December 5). The event is expected to create another wave of momentum in the smart healthcare sector.

As the largest healthcare trade show in the Asia-Pacific region, the Healthcare+ Expo Taiwan is now in its eighth year. This year, the event will be held at Hall 1 of the Nangang Exhibition Center starting Thursday (December 5). Over three days, attendees can look forward to a packed schedule featuring innovative products and cutting-edge technologies from major industry players. The expo will cover a wide array of areas, including smart medical devices, digital therapeutics, and precision diagnostics, offering visitors an immersive and comprehensive experience.

AI and Smart Healthcare in the Spotlight

Organized by the Institute for Biotechnology and Medicine Industry (IBMI) and the Regenerative Medicine and Biopharmaceutical Center (RBMP), this year’s Healthcare+ Expo Taiwan focuses on three core themes: Smart Healthcare, Precision Medicine, and All-age Health, spanning nine specific domains. The event aims to unite global partners in healthcare, technology, and distribution through strategic alliances. With a strong emphasis on AI integration, the expo seeks to accelerate the digital transformation of healthcare, drive innovation, and explore new global opportunities in the health-tech sector.

Big Four Manufacturers Cement Their Positions in the Medical Device Supply Chain

The "Big Four" contract manufacturers have all secured strategic positions in the medical device supply chain, though each approaches the sector differently. Compal, the most established in this space, has long-standing collaborations with domestic healthcare institutions. Its proprietary ablation technology products have already penetrated overseas markets.

Meanwhile, Quanta, the first to partner with NVIDIA, has leveraged its expertise in imaging analysis, medical computing, and mobile nursing solutions to capture market share. Quanta also garnered significant attention at last year’s Healthcare+ Expo with its innovative product lineup.

Inventec has made strides in medical technology through its subsidiaries, Inventec Appliances Corp. and Renwen Biotech. Last year, it showcased its cancer tumor screening solution, CTC Detection, which uses blood samples for early tumor detection and treatment planning. This technology was a standout at the 2023 expo. Inventec will again exhibit under Inventec Appliances Corp., this time in the public zone on the first floor, targeting a distinct demographic alongside institutions like Taipei City Hospital.

Wistron, hailed as the "biggest AI winner," has excelled in AI applications. Its subsidiary Wistron Medical Technology, established in 2016, has harnessed the group's technological and supply chain strengths to develop a medical product and service ecosystem, elevating the industry’s value chain.

For Compal, this year's participation will be led by its subsidiary HippoScreen Neurotech, focusing on collaborations across domestic and international markets to seize emerging opportunities in the healthcare sector.
