Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital Partners with Myanmar for Telemedicine Consultation CollaborationOct 08, 2024

As part of Taiwan's New Southbound Policy, Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital has strengthened its healthcare collaboration with Myanmar. On the 6th, the hospital signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with key medical institutions in Myanmar, signaling the start of partnerships in talent training, patient referrals, and telemedicine consultations. Vice Superintendent of Shin Kong Hospital, Dr. Tzu-Jen Hung, expressed the hope that this cooperation will foster cross-disciplinary collaboration, driving the advancement and innovation of healthcare services together.

Healthcare collaboration is a crucial component of the New Southbound Policy, and Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital has been designated as the leading hospital for Myanmar. Under the leadership of Dr. Hung, the Shin Kong team arrived in Myanmar on the 5th, and today held a Taiwan-Myanmar Smart Healthcare Forum. During the forum, Shin Kong Hospital signed an MOU with Mediland Hospital and AVA Medical Centre in Myanmar, formally launching cooperative efforts in areas such as medical talent training, referrals for complex critical cases, and telemedicine consultations.

In his speech, Dr. Hung emphasized that Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital has always adhered to the principle of "caring for patients and striving for excellence," continuously enhancing its medical technology and service quality. The hospital aims to become a leading healthcare institution both locally and internationally, providing comprehensive medical services to a broad patient base. In recent years, Shin Kong has been actively involved in international medical collaborations and exchanges, promoting medical innovation and development.

Dr. Hung expressed his hope that through the forum, experts, scholars, and practitioners from different fields could share their latest research findings, explore cutting-edge medical technologies, and exchange clinical experiences and medical products to raise professional standards.
