ACBT's Indonesian facility set to begin production in Q3, extending health food business reach to VietnamMar 20, 2024

All Cosmos Bio-Tech Holding Corporation (ACBT) is set to commence production at its Indonesian plant in the third quarter of this year. Apart from its core fertilizer industry, the company, in a joint venture with Eastern Media International Co. Ltd., is also venturing into the direct selling market in Malaysia through a subsidiary. Additionally, its health supplements business operations, which currently span from Malaysia, will expand to Vietnam, injecting further vitality into its operations.

ACBT stated that the first quarter is traditionally a slow season for the industry, as farmer fertilizer usage tends to decrease due to the rainy season. Generally, demand picks up in the second and third quarters. Besides its existing customers in Malaysia, the upcoming Indonesian plant is expected to open up the Indonesian market further. Furthermore, the health supplements business is steadily growing and will explore new sales channels, potentially injecting fresh revenue momentum into the company.

In the first half of 2023, ACBT's gross profit margin was impacted by high cost, resulting in a slight decrease. However, the gross profit margin stabilized in the second half of the year. The company recorded a total revenue of NT$2.827 billion for the full year of 2023, a decrease of 23.65% compared to the previous year. After-tax net profit was NT$139 million, down by 62.15% year-on-year, with earnings per share (EPS) at NT$2.18. The board of directors has proposed a cash dividend of NT$1 per share.
