TCI Co., Ltd. announced that its subsidiary, TCI Biotech, was invited by Changhua Christian Hospital to participate in an international medical forum in Thailand, and took part in the 2023 Taiwan-Thailand Regenerative Medicine Forum at Ramathibodi Hospital, an affiliate of Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand.
The forum was attended by TCI's general manager and director of TCI's labratory, who shared their views on cell therapy regulations and the development of technology applications.
The forum will also serve as a bridge to explore high-end medical opportunities in Thailand and to establish cell therapy collaboration with local hospitals in Thailand, facilitating the bilateral flow of cell therapy patients between Taiwan and Thailand, and promoting the advancement of biotechnology and medicine for the health and well-being of mankind.
Since 2011, TCI has been committed to providing complete genetic testing services, as well as providing complementary products and services through personalised genetic testing, in order to move towards precision personalised medicine. In addition to the development of genetic tests for cardiovascular drugs in 2021, the pharmacogenetic testing service will also apply for Laboratory Developed Tests (LDTs) in 2022, and has already received national accreditation as a registered molecular laboratory, and will continue to develop pharmacogenetic testing technologies for chronic diseases such as depression and gastroenterology.
According to TCI, TFDA has been planning and developing guidelines for molecular-based LDTs as early as 2018, providing laboratories with the registration service, actively promoting the precision medical program, and investing a lot of resources to set up the program earlier than most other Asian countries.
As part of Thailand's economic development plan, the "Thailand 4.0", the partner in Thailand is looking forward to becoming the next regenerative therapy centre in Asia by learning from Taiwan through the forum.
This is the first time that TCI has been invited to participate in the "2023 Taiwan-Thailand Regenerative Medicine Forum" in collaboration with Changhua Christian Hospital and Ramathibodi Hospital in Thailand, along with members from Mahidol University, Thailand's leading medical university, and BDMS, Thailand's largest medical group. The conference will focus on issues such as the system and regulation of cell and immunotherapy.
