Denka Co., Ltd., Japanese chemical products firm, will invest more than 1 billion yuan to collaborate with PlexBio Co.,Ltd., a Taipei, Taiwan-based clinical cancer diagnostics developer, to expand the Japanese market as well as to enter the European and American markets.
Three years ago, PlexBio introduced Denka, the largest vaccine manufacturer in Japan, to become the largest single shareholder of PlexBio, currently Denka's shareholding reached 33.4%. Last year's revenue was NT$190 million, an annual increase of 53%, of which 70% was contributed by Denka. In addition to the self-developed core technology of πCode multi-dimensional testing, PlexBio has factories in Taiwan and China, and is Denka's main CDMO partner.
As opposed to other international brands that need to test different genes repeatedly and cannot be further typed, the LCP of PlexBio platform can test 13 genetic pathologies at the same time, which is more effective and saves time and cost.
The LCP platform has been formally introduced into the clinical diagnosis of lung cancer patients at the National Cheng Kung University Hospital and the clinical trial of the lung cancer genetic molecular diagnostic reagent at the Taipei Cathay General Hospital, and is expected to continue to be promoted in domestic hospitals.
