KMU Hospital signs MOU with Japanese counterparts for cancer vaccineFeb 03, 2023

After three years of being affected by the epidemic, Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital (KMUH) led a delegation to Japan. Apart from City Halls of Matsumoto in Nagano Prefecture and Kaga in Ishikawa Prefecture, the delegation visited Kanazawa Medical University, Matsumoto University and Shinshu University Hospital, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kanazawa Medical University to jointly develop a cancer vaccine based on neoplastic antigens suitable for the Taiwanese community.

Established in 1972, Kanazawa Medical University and KMUH have established a good cooperation over the years. The two parties will use rigorous research standards to verify the efficacy and safety of the vaccine and to promote the development of cutting-edge medical and biotechnology industries.

According to KMUH, it took advantage of the epidemic's slowdown and immediately started to connect with international medical services; Japan is a very important partner for Taiwan, so the first delegation went to Japan. In addition to personally inviting Japanese scholars to Taiwan to participate in the Kaohsiung Medical University's Taiwan-Japan international symposium in March, the delegation also signed a memorandum of cooperation with Kanazawa Medical University.
