Qisda's medical business surpasses NT20bnJan 06, 2023

Qisda Group announced consolidated revenue of NT$17.984 billion for December 2022, a decrease of 18.4% compared to the same period of the previous year and a decrease of 6.3% compared to the previous month. Cumulative consolidated revenue for 2022 was NT$239.829 billion, close to the NT$240 billion mark, an increase of NT$13.9 billion over 2021 and a 6% annual growth rate, once again setting a new historical record.

Qisda said that despite the economic downturn, Qisda has been ahead of schedule in investing new high value-added businesses. In 2022, the networking & communication and smart solutions businesses will both exceed NT$30 billion, and the medical business will also exceed NT$20 billion.

Qisda's consolidated revenue in December last year was NT$17.984 billion, down 6% month-on-month and 18% year-on-year, while its consolidated revenue in Q4 was NT$56.108 billion, down 7% quarter-on-quarter and 9% year-on-year. IT products were more affected by inventory adjustments by customers, but high value-added businesses such as networking and communication, medical and smart solutions all grew compared to the same period the previous year.

Qisda's major business units, including the subsidiary Alpha Networks, were able to overcome the shortage of materials last year and, with the help of new markets, accumulated 2022 annual consolidated revenue of $33.634 billion, an annual growth rate of 20.72% and a record high 2022 annual revenue.

Industrial computer maker DFI 's annual consolidated revenue for 2022 was approximately NT$16.157 billion, a 22.29% increase over the previous year and a record high for the year, meaning DFI's revenue grew in five consecutive years.

Although the epidemic in China had an impact on BenQ Hospital and the procurement of medical supplies and equipment, Qisda's medical business still recorded good results in 2022 because part of the budget was shifted to epidemic prevention products, and together with the acquisition of new businesses such as pharmacy and medical management, the Group's medical business grew by 30% and its revenue scale exceeded RMB20 billion.

According to Qisda's Chairman, Mr Peter Chen, the overall business climate for 2023 is similar to that of 2022 and may be a little better than 2022. From Qisda's large fleet, the medical business is looking positive and solutions continue to grow, while netcom may be a little worse than 2022, but not too bad.
