BenQ's healthcare strategy is on the rise, with a NT$3.2 billion deal to take over half of WEB-PRO's sharesNov 02, 2022

The Board of Directors of BenQ Materials Corp. has approved a NT$3.162 billion acquisition of approximately 51% of the shares of a major medical and hygiene material manufacturer, WEB-PRO, to incorporate WEB-PRO into BenQ Materials' subsidiaries and accelerate the development of technology and application in the medical field.

As a world-renowned upstream material manufacturer of medical and hygiene materials, WEB-PRO's water-needled non-woven fabrics and PE films are behind many products such as medical-grade protective gowns, medical gauze blocks, underpads, wet wipes, face masks, nappies and sanitary pads. With strong customer relationships, a first-class supply chain, advanced manufacturing capabilities and an excellent workforce in Japan, Europe, the United States and Asia, we are a qualified supplier to the world's leading brands. Upon completion of the transaction, WPI will be integrated into the medical sector of BenQ Materials, which will continue to develop and manufacture epidemiological and medical related products.

BenQ Materials has been promoting its corporate transformation and has been actively involved in the medical materials and battery core fields. Mr. Z.C. BenQ Materials also announced its third quarter financial results, with a net profit of NT$1.088 billion and earnings per share of NT$3.39 attributable to the owners of the parent company for the first three quarters.
