Qisda, GIS and TPV join forces! Alliances in the medical display fieldOct 25, 2022

In order to develop the application of smart medical display technology industry, cross-disciplinary cooperation has become more important. In addition, the growing scale of the medical display industry has attracted manufacturers to join hands to attack it.

In order to promote the upgrading and transformation of the display industry, accelerate the transformation of the emerging display technology industry chain, and identify new business opportunities in the blue ocean, the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs has established the Smart Display Industrial Alliance (SDIA) to promote the development of smart display technology products with international leading indicators, and introduce new business models and market trials. The SDIA aims to strengthen the research and development capacity of the technology and to meet the needs of the market.

According to estimates, the global medical display market will grow to US$2.33 billion by 2023, and smart medical applications include disease detection, disease treatment, post-illness care and rehabilitation, and disease health education and promotion. To accelerate the development of smart medical displays in Taiwan, SDIA has joined hands with display manufacturers to build a smart medical display case at the National Taiwan University Hospital in Hsinchu.

In particular, the GIS Group has built a 3D face recognition access control system and a 3D bedside care system to help the hospital to control staff entering and leaving the hospital in a timely and efficient manner, as well as to detect and notify patients in the ward of falls and leaving the bed in real time to help medical and nursing staff to respond immediately and improve the quality and efficiency of care.

In addition, the use of reflective display electronic paper, with its non-self-emitting characteristics, does not interfere with patient rest and peace of mind. By adopting the non-blue light feature of electronic paper, it is hoped that a good care environment can be created without affecting sleep.

Qisda has built an electronic paper room card which, through system integration, delivers patient-related information from the back office in a timely manner, eliminating the need for nursing staff to update it manually, allowing nursing staff to focus on their care work and improving patient satisfaction.

TPV replaces one-off printed health education posters with e-paper outdoor signage and smart e-paper table signs to deliver information in real time.
