GlycoNex to Launch New Biosimilar Project in Q2 Targeting Psoriasis and Autoimmune MarketsFeb 24, 2026
GlycoNex announced yesterday that it will initiate its second biosimilar development program in Q2 2026, targeting Psoriasis and other immune-related diseases.
Unmet Need: Psoriasis affects approximately 43 million people globally. While biologics offer rapid efficacy, high costs often limit patient access. GlycoNex aims to be among the first wave of global developers for this specific biosimilar to lower treatment costs.
Manufacturing Advantage: The company will implement high-yield continuous manufacturing processes and technical upgrades to reduce COGS (Cost of Goods Sold), leveraging its existing expertise in antibody development and scale-up.
Timeline: Building on the experience of its osteoporosis biosimilar (SPD8), currently in Phase III, GlycoNex plans to submit an IND (Investigational New Drug) application by 2029.
Market Outlook: The global biosimilar market is projected to exceed US$35 billion by 2028. GM Mei-Chun Yang stated the project will enhance Taiwan’s international visibility in high-end biologic R&D and manufacturing resilience.
