Heron Neutron Medical  announced on the 15th the signing of a collaboration agreement with the National University Hospital (NUH) of Singapore and the A*STAR Institute of Bioprocessing Technology (BTI). Together, they will establish Southeast Asia’s first Accelerator-Based Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (AB-BNCT) R&D center in Singapore.

  • Clinical Expertise: While NUH is a signatory, the clinical and research specialized knowledge will be provided by the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS).
  • Strategic Synergy: The partnership combines Herong’s lead in integrated medical equipment and boron drugs, NCIS’s clinical excellence, and BTI’s global leadership in biopharmaceutical and cell/gene therapy R&D.
  • Milestone: This marks a major step for Taiwan’s AB-BNCT technology entering the international market. Herong, the first Taiwanese firm focused on AB-BNCT integration, has already secured medical device licenses and is working to provide cancer patients with high-precision treatment with minimal side effects.
