The Taiwan Healthcare+ Expo, the premier year-end event for the biotech industry, commenced on Dec 4. This year marks a historic milestone as a "Global Hospital Delegation" arrives in Taiwan for the first time. International buyers have also shifted their approach, arriving with specific "procurement lists" to source innovation, signaling a major boost for local medical institutions and tech providers.

Key Highlights:

  • Scale: A record-breaking 650 institutions are occupying 2,100 booths. The event hosts 40 overseas delegations, including 320 members from 31 international industry associations and 9 hospital organizations.
  • Strategic Shift: Wu Ming-fa, COO of IBMI (Institute for Biotechnology and Medicine Industry), noted that the expo has evolved from a "display platform" into a "Global Procurement Matchmaking Center."
  • Core Themes: The spotlight is on Medical Robotics and AI, with Precision and Regenerative Medicine also making significant strides. Six major categories of medical robots are on display:
    • ASUS: AI robot central control platforms.
    • TVGH, CMUH, and Mackay: Healthcare and nursing robots.
    • Wistron and Ho-Ho: Exercise and rehabilitation robotics.
    • BenQ/Qisda (with Brain Navi), Tzu Chi, and Point Robotics: Surgical assistance and navigation systems.
    • SKH, Tungs’ Metro Harbor, and OmniHealth: Medical logistics and transport robots.
