“Every second counts in an emergency.” The moment a patient is placed into an ambulance, paramedics immediately apply a single-piece electrode patch. Within just one minute, a complete 12-lead ECG is recorded. These readings, enhanced by AI-assisted diagnostic interpretation, are then transmitted in real-time to hospital systems—giving emergency physicians a critical head start in assessing and preparing for the patient’s arrival.
This is not a future vision—it is already in practice across ambulances in 12 counties throughout Taiwan. Developed by QT Medical, this system transforms the traditionally hospital-bound 12-lead ECG into a portable, 67-gram lightweight device. The process, once time-consuming and complex, has been streamlined to a one-minute procedure. Integrated with the STEMI AI diagnostic workflow developed by China Medical University Hospital, the solution establishes a regionally coordinated acute care model in central Taiwan—greatly improving communication, triage efficiency, and clinical response times.

Deploying User-Friendly ECG Technology in Primary Care
QT Medical’s 12-lead ECG system removes the limitations of traditional hospital-based devices that require patients to lie flat. Its wireless, lightweight design allows for quick and comfortable cardiac assessments—even for those with limited mobility. Now actively used at the primary care level, the device has been introduced into local clinics and community health centers. In partnership with Tri-Service General Hospital and Quanta’s AI team, QT Medical is supporting grassroots cardiovascular screening by combining real-time ECG transmission with AI-assisted interpretation—helping clinicians detect heart conditions earlier and more efficiently.

Standardized ECG Data for Seamless Health System Integration
As smart healthcare evolves, the exchange of structured and standardized medical data has become a fundamental requirement. QT Medical ensures that its ECG reports conform to international data standards, enabling full compatibility with hospital information systems (HIS) and electronic medical records (EMR).
Jackal Chen, Executive Vice President of R&D, explains:
“By adopting standardized formats, we enhance data interoperability across institutions and lay the technological foundation for applications such as remote diagnostics and AI-driven clinical workflows.”
Global Expansion Through Regulatory Success and Strategic Alliances
QT Medical is strengthening its international footprint through a dual approach—pursuing regulatory approvals while building strategic partnerships. The company has already obtained FDA and CE certifications, along with medical device approvals in Japan, Canada, Australia, and Thailand, continuing to expand its global regulatory reach.
Jackal Chen notes:“Taiwan possesses strong capabilities in medical technology, but competing globally requires collective strength. By forming alliances with other Taiwanese medtech companies and hospitals—and aligning with government-led export initiatives—we can deliver integrated solutions and improve our international market positioning.”
Looking ahead, QT Medical plans to further develop its global smart healthcare network.
“Our goal is to build a robust partnership ecosystem,” Jackal adds. “Through resource sharing and mutual product endorsement, we aim to expand market coverage and reinforce our competitiveness in global collaborations.”
