Bora Pharmaceuticals Reports 20% Year-on-Year Revenue Growth in April; Outlook Strong for GERD and Pediatric Epilepsy Drug MarketsMay 13, 2025

Bora Pharmaceuticals announced on May 9 that its consolidated revenue for April reached NT$2.02 billion, representing a 22.8% increase compared to the same period last year. Among its two main business segments, the CDMO division maintained strong performance, while global sales revenue rebounded significantly from the previous quarter. This was primarily driven by two factors: a supply chain issue faced by a competitor for DLS, a medication for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), early in the second quarter, allowing Bora to step in and capture additional market share, and expanding market share of specialty drugs led by VIGAFYDE, an oral solution for pediatric epilepsy.

According to market research firm Research Nester, the global GERD market is valued at USD 5.24 billion in 2024 and is projected to exceed USD 7.13 billion by 2037, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 2.4%.

In addition, Data Bridge Market Research reports that the pediatric epilepsy treatment market reached USD 11.45 billion in 2022 and is expected to grow to USD 16.91 billion by 2030, with a CAGR approaching 5%. Both the GERD and pediatric epilepsy drug markets show highly promising growth prospects.

Bora noted that it completed product portfolio optimization ahead of schedule in the first quarter, boosting the company’s confidence in the competitiveness of its current offerings. Although DLS experienced a sales slowdown in the previous quarter due to softer market demand, Bora quickly filled the gap left by a competitor’s supply chain disruption in early Q2, effectively capturing greater market share. This swift response underscores the resilience and supply chain efficiency embodied in its dual-engine strategy. Combined with stable contributions from new products such as KCL, Diltiazem, and VIGAFYDE, Bora's sales momentum rebounded significantly in April. Looking ahead, the company will continue focusing on improving gross margins and cash flow quality, allocating resources toward high-value and specialty products to accelerate the group’s sustainable growth.
