AmCad BioMed announced a partnership with the renowned Dubai-based innovation clinic GluCare to establish a Middle East demonstration center. The center will introduce the AI-driven sleep apnea detection system "AmCad Sleep Apnea Detector." This collaboration marks a follow-up to their previous partnership with the "AmCad Thyroid Detector," aiming to strengthen the promotion of smart medical devices and AI clinical capabilities in the UAE market.
In recent years, AmCad BioMed has been actively expanding into international markets. At the "2025 Dubai International Medical Exhibition," the company attracted inquiries from over 100 global distributors, with discussions from Middle Eastern countries accounting for 35%, South Asia 25%, and Northeast Asia (including Japan) 12%.
Yili Lee, General Manager of AmCad BioMed, stated that the AmCad Sleep Apnea Detector successfully entered the UAE market last year, being applied for clinical trials and screenings for obese patients. It is used as a risk assessment tool before weight loss treatments and also tracks the improvement of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) after weight loss.
The UAE has a high obesity rate, with the country's national health survey showing that 67.9% of adults aged 18-69 are overweight or obese, and approximately 16.6% of adults are at high risk for OSA.
AmCad Sleep Apnea Detector uses AI to analyze the collapse of soft tissues in the upper airway and calculate the risk probability of moderate to severe OSA, providing a non-invasive and efficient screening tool suitable for a wide range of populations, including the obese. This technology is expected to improve early diagnosis rates and support the UAE's preventive healthcare and chronic disease management policies.
Yili Lee emphasized that the official establishment of the demonstration center in Dubai this year, in collaboration with GluCare, which is renowned for its AI-driven personalized treatment technologies, is an important step. GluCare is dedicated to providing innovative and personalized chronic disease management solutions. The combination of GluCare's technology and AmCad BioMed’s smart medical devices will create powerful synergies. Given the successful collaboration on the "Thyroid Ultrasound Assistance Software," the company is confident in further expanding its presence in the Middle Eastern market.
