Medical device manufacturer PACIFIC HOSPITAL SUPPLY reported strong revenue performance for March, reaching NT$254 million, marking a 43.4% month-on-month increase and a 12.41% year-on-year growth, setting a new historical high. This growth pushed quarterly revenue to NT$604 million, a 7.19% year-on-year increase. The company noted strong performances across markets in North America, Asia, Japan, and Europe, particularly in Europe, where a large order for closed suction catheters drove a substantial boost in sales. The momentum is expected to continue into Q2, with operations set to outperform the previous quarter.
PACIFIC HOSPITAL SUPPLY stated that North America accounted for 8% of total revenue, with growth momentum from Q4 last year carrying into Q1 2025, resulting in a 10% growth in the first quarter. As for tariffs, the company indicated limited impact on existing customers, though new business development may be somewhat affected in the long term. The company will continue to maintain profit flexibility while monitoring market dynamics.
In other markets, the company saw a 50% growth in Asia in Q1, while Japan rebounded with an 8% increase. Europe, in particular, saw a two-fold increase in revenue compared to last year, driven by the large order for closed suction catheters, which is expected to continue contributing through the first half of the year. However, the Taiwan, China, and Latin America markets showed weaker performance, with declines exceeding 10%, and Germany experienced a larger drop of 43%.
Regarding product performance, both contract manufacturing and proprietary brands posted similar gross margins, with closed suction catheters showing a standout growth of 42%. Other catheter types also performed well, contributing to an overall 60% increase in sales.
Currently, the copper technology factory is operating at a capacity utilization rate of around 60-70%, and the company will strive to secure additional orders to fill its production capacity. Looking ahead to Q2, the company expects continued shipments of the large European order for closed suction catheters, with operations expected to surpass the previous quarter.
