GeneReach Posts NT$2.07 Loss per Share in 2023, Expands Global Applications of PCR TechnologyMar 31, 2025

GeneReach Biotechnology reported that its 2023 revenue growth was primarily driven by the aquaculture testing market, which accounted for 50.6% of total revenue. However, as the impact of COVID-19 has gradually subsided, overall growth has slowed. The company recorded annual revenue of NT$206 million, with a net loss after tax of NT$119 million, translating to a loss of NT$2.07 per share.

GeneReach stated that it will continue to actively expand its presence in the international livestock market and explore new application areas. Its top three markets last year were Southeast Asia, Latin America and Africa, and Northeast Asia (including Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea), contributing 46.31%, 18.96%, and 15.42% of revenue respectively. Notably, the Oceania market saw a nearly threefold increase compared to the previous year, while the Middle East and Near East markets grew by 44%.

Most of GeneReach’s revenue last year came from the Asian region. By country, the top three contributors were Taiwan, Indonesia, and Panama. The company achieved significant progress in the global PCR market through product repackaging and the development of new reagents, successfully establishing an innovative business model.

GeneReach also made substantial advancements across various fields, including aquaculture disease detection, livestock diagnostics, and companion animal testing. The company continued to deepen its presence in Southeast Asia by promoting mobile testing initiatives and advancing the transition to its POCKIT Central platform, which led to the successful development of stable, long-term orders. Additionally, it expanded into the emerging field of drug forensics.

Looking ahead, GeneReach emphasized that it will continue to strengthen its One Health strategy within the broader health industry. By integrating PCR-based nucleic acid testing with next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology, the company aims to drive innovation in diagnostic applications, build a cross-species pathogen surveillance network, and offer comprehensive testing solutions—further cementing its leadership in the field of molecular diagnostics and showcasing its innovative capabilities.
