MicroBase Technology announced on the 18th that it has partnered with the well-established pharmaceutical company Taiwan Biotech to develop a pulmonary drug delivery platform, focusing on nebulized inhalation therapies. This collaboration aims to enhance treatment options for the domestic market while also expanding into the ASEAN region.

According to MicroBase, Taiwan Biotech produces a comprehensive range of nebulized inhalation medications, spanning short-acting bronchodilators to combination A+B therapies, as well as mucolytic and secretion-reducing solutions. As the broadest supplier of nebulized inhalation solutions in Taiwan, Taiwan Biotech’s product line complements MicroBase’s proprietary drug delivery platform, creating a win-win collaboration.

MicroBase has already integrated Taiwan Biotech’s nebulized inhalation medications, including Saldolin, Butanyl, Ipratran, Besmate, and Siruta, along with the newly launched isotonic and hypertonic saline solutions. Since January 2025, the company has begun providing integrated treatment solutions to healthcare facilities, with a focus on enhancing medication experience and efficacy for children and elderly patients suffering from chronic respiratory diseases. The partnership also includes plans to gradually expand into the emerging Southeast Asian market, home to approximately 670 million people.

Founded in 1997, MicroBase has spent 28 years pioneering pulmonary drug delivery platforms. Recognizing that children and the elderly are high-risk groups for respiratory diseases, the company has developed sustained-release nebulization technology tailored to the breathing patterns of aging individuals, improving pulmonary drug deposition. When combined with Taiwan Biotech’s nebulized inhalation solutions, these medications can be quickly absorbed via oral or nasal inhalation, effectively relieving nasal congestion and thinning mucus to achieve more efficient and user-friendly respiratory therapy.

MicroBase also emphasized that its drug delivery platform allows children and elderly patients to safely perform nebulization therapy at home under medical guidance, thanks to its simple and easy-to-use design. The compact and portable device ensures continuous treatment regardless of the environment, improving patients' quality of life while reducing the burden on healthcare institutions.
