NORBEL announced on the 4th that its January revenue reached NT$311 million, an 11.36% year-on-year increase, marking an 18-month high. The company stated that the growth was primarily driven by its stores remaining open during the Chinese New Year, attracting many customers who returned home to purchase skincare products, health supplements, and baby care items. The holiday sales were strong, and the company’s continued store expansion, reaching 100 locations by the end of last year, also contributed to the performance.
NORBEL's subsidiary, NORBEL BABY, originally focused on maternal and baby products, has recently expanded its business to include elderly care, long-term care, and home medical supplies to meet the diverse needs of an aging society. NORBEL BABY has also aggressively initiated a dual-engine growth strategy, focusing on both store expansion and strategic investments, to further increase market share, strengthen its competitive edge, and ensure continued leadership in the highly competitive market.
Last year, NORBEL announced plans to invest in Wholecome Pharmacy’s retail pharmacy business, with a budget of up to NT$210 million to acquire more than 70% of the company’s shares. The company also authorized its chairman to sign an investment agreement and negotiate related matters within this budget. Additionally, NORBEL revealed plans to invest up to NT$363 million in P&Q Pharmacy’s medical device retail business, acquiring 55% of the company’s shares.
NORBEL stated that the integration with Wholecome Pharmacy and P&Q Pharmacy is expected to be completed in the first half of 2025. Wholecome Pharmacy primarily operates large chain pharmacies in the Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli regions with 12 locations. P&Q Pharmacy, with its existing 10 locations, is also continuing to expand. The plan to operate both brands under a dual-brand model will assist NORBEL BABY in expanding into the northern market while focusing on consolidating its presence in central and southern Taiwan.
