Bora Pharmaceuticals announced on the 3rd that as Taiwan’s largest pharmaceutical exporter, it is fully prepared for the latest U.S. tariff policy. With its globally diversified production capacity and last year’s acquisition in the U.S. to strengthen local supply capabilities, the company has the flexibility to swiftly adapt to policy changes, significantly mitigating any potential impact.
Bora stated that its dual growth drivers—CDMO business and pharmaceutical sales in the U.S.—will continue to develop steadily.
The company has established multiple advanced manufacturing, packaging, and logistics facilities across Asia and North America, including a production site in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Through strategic capacity and supply chain management, Bora ensures a stable supply of pharmaceuticals to over 100 markets worldwide, even in the face of shifting political and trade environments.
Additionally, Bora’s CDMO business operates under an FOB (Free on Board) model, where customers are responsible for applicable taxes. This means tariff adjustments will not affect pricing or cost structures, thereby enhancing the company’s market competitiveness and operational resilience.
Bora’s core CDMO strengths lie in efficient cross-site technology transfer, optimized supply chain management, and compliance-driven large-scale production across multiple regions. These key capabilities not only reinforce the company’s competitive edge in the current market environment but also underscore its role as a stable and reliable global manufacturing partner, ensuring an uninterrupted supply of medicines.
The company further noted that its U.S. sales operations are actively expanding into specialty pharmacy channels and the rare disease sector. This includes the recently acquired pediatric epilepsy medication, Vigafyde oral solution. Most of these new products are manufactured in Europe and the U.S., optimizing the company’s product portfolio while aligning with market trends.
This strategy aligns with Bora’s ongoing efforts to optimize its CDMO supply chain distribution, maintaining business agility and responsiveness. By fostering strong partnerships with clients, the company aims to ensure steady business growth.
