Tanvex BioPharma has successfully completed the acquisition and integration of Bora Biologics, a subsidiary of Bora Pharmaceuticals. Bora Biologics, a key player under Taiwan's largest pharmaceutical group, specializes in contract development and manufacturing for biologics. With the completion of this transaction, Tanvex has joined forces with the Bora Group to establish an internationally competitive biologics CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) alliance. Moving forward, Tanvex's CDMO business will operate under the "Bora Biologics" brand, targeting the global biologics CDMO market.
Stephen Lam, CEO of Tanvex BioPharma, highlighted this transaction as a pivotal milestone for Tanvex in expanding its international CDMO business. The decision to retain the "Bora Biologics" brand underscores the commitment to leveraging Bora Group's established reputation and extensive track record in the global CDMO market. This strategic move aims to amplify the collaborative advantages of the alliance while seamlessly integrating Tanvex's success in commercial-scale production in the U.S. market with Bora Group's competitive strengths. Lam emphasized that the newly integrated "Bora Biologics" brand is poised to become an indispensable player in the future development of the global biologics industry.
This strategic partnership combines Tanvex's innovative capabilities in biosimilar development and its FDA-approved commercial production base in San Diego, with Bora Biologics' expertise in early-stage biologics R&D outsourcing in Taiwan. Over the past two years, Bora Biologics has completed over 35 CDMO projects with a 100% on-time delivery rate. These achievements will enable the new "Bora Biologics" platform to offer more flexible, comprehensive, end-to-end solutions that deliver quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness for global biologics customers.
According to the strategic alliance plan, the merged company will undergo a board restructuring, with Bora Group Chairman Bobby Sheng taking on the role of Chairman of Tanvex BioPharma. The partnership will also focus on providing a complete supply chain solution, including U.S.-based fill-and-finish capabilities, ensuring seamless integration and fostering a culture of innovation aimed at operational excellence.
Bora Group Chairman Bobby Sheng expressed excitement about the alliance, highlighting the mutual benefits it offers. Tanvex will gain access to Bora Group's global resources to respond more effectively to industry needs, while Bora Biologics will immediately benefit from U.S.-based commercial production capabilities. Together, they aim to deliver unparalleled support and innovative solutions for biologics development, providing patients worldwide with more and better pharmaceutical options through enhanced efficiency and service integration.
